Meet Our Leading Provider Dr. Christina Schropp
Dr. Christina Schropp proudly earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo after an externship in neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus at the Karl Ludwigs Universität Klinikum in Freiburg, Germany and earned her Pharmaceutical Therapeutic Agents degree at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, USA. Always committed to the advancement of optometry, Dr. Schropp was an early believer in providing superior integrated eyecare. Always investing in the latest technologies and newest instrumentation, she believed early diagnosis of eye disease and preventative health care was priority #1 for her patients along with comprehensive co-management with ophthalmology for laser refractive surgery, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes. Today, Dr Schropp is excited to bring her enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in eye care to the community of West 5 London focusing on eye wellness, pediatric eye care and dry eye management.
After patient care, Dr. Schropp served professionally as a Canadian National Board Assessor and clinical supervisor at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry. She is a member of CAO, OAO, London Association of Optometrists, Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society, NORA and Is currently working towards her Functional Medicine certification.
Her 30 years in practice have allowed her to work in beautiful communities including Canada’s East Coast Halifax area, Whitby, Ontario and London’s very own Old South community as co-founder of Old South Optometry. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in eye care to the newest community of West 5 London.
In the community, Dr. Schropp served for years as a Whitby-Sunrise Rotarian and she enjoyed volunteering with various World Health Organization eye care missions. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, gardening or swimming in Georgian Bay.
